In a dystopian frontier town where all music is banned under the rule of The Silencers, Amir (17) is determined to win the heart of Razia and secretly records a song which soon spreads like wildfire. Bored and frustrated by the Silencer’s suffocating control, truants Amir and Tiger whittle away the days around the neighborhood, stealing and pillaging private homes as they scavenge for valuable items. But there’s more to life for Amir and his true passion lies in music…and his deep love and affection for Razia. Amir will risk everything to record his songs for her, even as Razia’s mother Ibtissam works closely with The Silencers to capture and eliminate the mysterious rebels who are breaking the rules and threatening the public morale. Set in a parallel reality that is painfully familiar to ours, The Wind Also Sings is an allegory on man’s rebellious spirit in the face of fascism, a tale that resonates with us now more than ever.
