Boomah

In a gangland ruled by ruthless men, an unusual legend emerged. “Boomah” is the hood name for Zein (30), brought up in the streets of a notorious area of Jordan. Boomah’s influence grows through challenging local drug lords, gang leaders, and corrupt authority figures. But what makes Boomah’s legend larger than life is that she is a woman challenging a society dominated by men and proving that loyalty and friendship is a valuable commodity even on the streets. While Boomah aims to dismantle the decades-old dominion of street thugs, she must also confront the traumas of her past and care for those closest to her. As Boomah’s influence grows, she is confronted with the perils of her new empire, but then she is given a choice: Rising the ranks at all costs or safeguarding and nurturing the few people who are loyal to her and need her the most? Should she stay and rule in a city that is filled with painful memories and a dangerous future, or should she and those she loves escape the ugliness of street life?
